The therapy can be administered with the help of a neti pot (a special vessel used for pour medicated oil). The pot is tilted over your head and aimed at the nostrils. Shirodhara: This therapy is based on the vishuddhi chakra of Ayurvedic treatment. As a part of the therapy a stream of medicated oil is poured over the thyroid area using a specially designed dhara pot. The constant flow of oil stimulates various psycho-neuro-immunological functions of the brain. It heals various psychological and nervous processes as well as stimulates the immune system. In turn, this changes the levels of TSH in the body, improving the symptoms of Hypothyroidism.

Kati Basti: Therapy is delivered with the use of a dough, that creates a sort of circular dam holding the warm medicated oils near the thyroid region. The treatment stimulates and nourishes the thyroid gland. Apart from thyroid, the treatment is also very effective for various throat problems. Head Massage: When you are suffering from Hypothyroidism, you can easily develop gout. Gout can occur when the body produces abnormally high quantity of uric acid, leading to acute arthritis or severe joint pain. Head massage, using the amrutadi taila is an effective cure against gout. The amrutadi taila is made with root of the eranda or Ricinus communis Linn along with other effective herbs. The oil is gently massaged over the head and repeated sessions can provide relief from various symptoms. Foot Massage: Massaging certain points in your feet, which are related to the throat nerves, can also help overcome problems with the thyroid gland. The therapist would use a semi-circular movement, targeting the specific points located on the inner edges of the feet. Constant massaging for 2.5 minutes (for each foot) can provide desired relief from the present symptoms.
